"im just telling you about my life"

A boy shares with us his life story.

"this isn't supposed to be some well designed level im just gonna tell you my story"

"when I was 6 my father beat me"

"he was put in jail when i was 8"

"i was told by a doctor i was bipolar"

"i went to therapy but i was sexually harrased by the therapiSt"

What follows are more images from his alleged life. Though for some reason, he stops writing about it, even though the dark-matter squares for writing-on are still there.

Then even the images stop. I found myself running past lonesome, dark squares with no writing on them.

Then it ended on this.

I found his story so unfortunate that it was almost unbelievable.

But after scoping out his rather long "about me" section, I found it hard to picture him as someone who'd lie about it. He (quite enthusiastically) talked about his life, his hobbies, his current relationship status, and it all sounded quite honest.

But whether it was honest or not is not the point. I imagine there's countless numbers of people who outlet the misery of their lives on LittleBigPlanet. And it's a great place to outlet when you think about it.

For one, people will play the level and listen to you, but you'll still remain a desirable distance from them.

You'll easily be able to convey your pain with visuals and words.

And in the context of this video game, which is usually just full of flashy attempts at thrills, you create something abnormal, something that stands out and feels true because it's purposely imperfect and sad. Human. People will play it, even if it says right on the front "This is not meant to be a fun level".

This is why I love LBP, it's not just about making levels, it's about connecting on personal level with the creators via their creations. Just like any art medium, really. But the difference with this medium is that everyone is on an equal playing-field. Which means this guy can write about his life and expect strangers to stumble across it, as opposed to say, a novel, which he could've written and have it read by no one because it wasn't "well designed".

"who will survive the most raping"

There is so much screaming going on in this level that the sound files skip out.

This sex level is the most disturbing one I've seen. Not just because of the mass, bloody rape, but the way the creator presents the bodies. They are soft, cushiony, deformed human figures without discernible features; literally yanked back-and-forth by a piston connected via their lower areas so that they mesh and twist semi-realistically, against both of the objects' will.

And they break after too much cramped friction, so if you hang around, you might actually see who survives.

Not to mention... it looks like children raping each other.

Make it past the orgy and you'll find a bunch of idle, tall figures, watching silently.

I have a sinking feeling that this level is more than just a joke.

This is sexual curiosity. An experiment. Played off as a joke.

Fringe Dating Service

Worth noting: There are no levels titled "I need a hot girlfriend" or anything like that.

Some quotes.

"Hye im Dedexed im 14 cute, funny, nice, and cool. play lvl for more info : D XOXOXO"

"IM 13 MY BDAY IS AUGUST 8 MY FAV COLOUR IS RED IM NICE VERY FUNNY HOTT AND I WILL B THERE FOR YOU NO MATTER WHAT AND I WILL NEVER CHEAT ON YOU."

"just anygirl plz date me!!!"

The guys invite the girls to check out their photos. The photos are of their sackboy aviators.

To be clear, they are looking for "LBP Girlfriends." Girlfriends that they'll never get to touch/see in real life.

But these kids seem to regard the relationships as genuine, all the same.

I get the sense that the "emos" on LBP aren't really emos but just kids trying to express a kind of pubescent loneliness felt by those who spend too much time playing video games.
